Deaf Consumer Education Books and Videotapes

Dealing with deafness can be difficult and frustrating, but it doesn’t have to be.  At All Hands Interpreting Service, we try to make dealing with deafness as easy as possible.  This is why we have a variety of sign language products, educational materials, and deaf consumer education books and videotapes available to the deaf community.

Our efforts to deal with deafness fall on many different levels.  The first is to inform members of the deaf community.  We do this with deaf consumer education books and videotapes, such as Legal Rights, The Silent Child, Odyssey of Hearing Loss, and Listening: Ways of Hearing in a Silent World.  These books and videotapes on deaf consumer education are important in educating the public.  Other efforts in dealing with deafness are to make a multitude of products available that are deaf-friendly and sign language oriented.

  • Legal Rights is the perfect guide for the deaf community.  It includes up-to-date information and specific laws relating to discrimination against the deaf, as well as people with other disabilities.
  • One of the most respected child psychoanalysts wrote The Silent Child, a highly insightful book about problems and treatments among children who have difficulty communicating.
  • Odyssey of Hearing Loss is a compilation of the stories of various people who are dealing with deafness.  It untangles the frustration and troubles that deaf people endure and reveals the change, growth, and triumph over challenges in an inspirational manner.
